Masarrat Misbah reveals the true face of courage     of Acid attack women victims

A few days back I was invited to one of Masarrat Misbah’s HUM interactive session 2017 in collaboration with olomopolo media for acid burn women victim at Northwest Hospital Peshawar and I was left with no words after being aware of the fact that every year in modern day, hundreds of innocent women/young girls are intentionally burned by their husbands, brothers and other family members for reasons that might be considered as basic human rights. It makes the heart cry that many even refuse to seek help, partly due to the existing societal fears and stereotypes, thereby often spending years with inflamed and deteriorating bodies. With all that goes wrong in certain areas of the Pakistan every day, these helpless women fortunately still find a shimmer of hope such as that offered by the Depilex Smileagain Foundation by Masarrat Misbah. I’m so grateful to be at one of her workshops and was amazed to see how this honorable lady, Mussarat Misbah accepts the fact that there is a great deal progressively that should be accomplished for the casualties. As a part of the association’s target, the greater part of their past patients is currently independent and gainful individuals, all because of the endeavors of the good establishment of the smile again foundation.  Not only this but depilex also provides and helps all the victims in setting up small-scale beauty salons, accessory shops and even employing them at Depilex itself, with the overarching goal of transforming them into contributing members of society. Most have chosen to be trained as beauticians as they feel safer in the female-only world. For now, as I remembered from the workshop, 14 of the acid burned girls are happily married and with normal boys and that is something really great.

In the workshop, all the beautiful victim girls presented a skit that was just wonderful. It made me happy and stunned me that how all these girls learned to smile all over again. Hats of to Miss Masarrat Misbah who actually taught them to smile again gave them enough courage to face the cruel world and live like us normal human beings. She taught them confidence. Moreover, She has helped around 600 women in the last decade. She taught all of the victim women how to face the world. She made them believe that they have the ability to cope with anything and anyone in the world.
